Our physical facilities are the best in the region.

St Joseph’s is part of the fabric of South Australia. Students first stepped through our gates in 1863, a mere 27 years after the State was proclaimed.

Today, our physical facilities are the best in the region.

They include:

  • Modern, open plan classrooms with retractable glass walls
  • Mac laptops throughout the school
  • Each extended group of classrooms leads into an outdoor area where children can learn from the environment outside the classroom
  • Flexible learning spaces with modern furniture
  • Breakout spaces, including areas for arts, technology and cooking
  • Ecology is a strong focus - the school has a nature area, frog pond, sacred gardens and an olive grove.
  • Sporting facilities include; three ovals, large, purpose-built gymnasium, mini gym and cricket nets
  • Vibrant arts and music rooms
  • Canteen and new piazza

STEM & Arts

Science Technology Engineering Mathematics & ARTS

St Joseph's commitment to providing students with enriched learning opportunities can be seen through our newly created STEM  [ Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and ARTS ] purpose room. This provides students with opportunities to use their creative thinking in order to solve problems as well as encouraging them to process information in new and imaginative ways. Through access to this makerspace, students are engaged through fun, hands-on activities, while using state of the art technology such as Sphero's, EV3 Robots, green screens and constructive Lego kits. These activities and resources help teach students necessary skills such as coding, collaboration, critical thinking and problem solving for an ever-changing workforce and world. Through the use of STEM, we can provide our students with the opportunities and experiences they will need to assist them in becoming successful communicators, innovators and entrepreneurs in the future.
