House System
We encourage school spirit through our House system.
Each student is a member of a House for their school life at St Joseph’s. The team captains represented by Year 7 students plan activities for sports day and throughout the year.
Our Student population is put into House Teams as they enrol. There are 6 houses: MacKillop - Brown, Penola - Green, Tenison - Red, MacDonald - Yellow, Tappiener - Purple, and Fritzroy - Blue. The houses are named as such because of the importance of a person or place in the life of Saint Mary MacKillop of the Cross
There are 6 houses and brothers and sisters are always in the same house.
It has a place in the Pastoral Care of students as multi-aged activities are organized during some house meetings. It has been a wonderful way to develop positive relationships between students from reception to year 7. House Meetings are organized for the whole school periodically.
