Dear School Community
St Joseph’s School acknowledges the important work that volunteers carry out within our school environment. Many tasks within the school are greatly enhanced by the generous donation of time and talent by volunteers who come and work in a variety of areas.
This regulation applies to a wide range of activities in the school, attending excursions, coaching sports teams, working in the canteen and many other school-related activities.
If you would like to act as a volunteer in the school, the following steps need to be completed before being placed on our School’s Volunteer Register. There is no cost for the application for a DCSI clearance.
Step 1: Collect your Volunteer Registration Pack from the school Front Office.
Step 2: View the Work Health & Safety Induction for Volunteers (approx. 10mins).
Step 3: Complete the Reporting Abuse & Neglect for Volunteers online training (approx. 1 hour), use the handbook link for Reporting Abuse & Neglect for Volunteers online training as a guide. Please print the certificate on completion of training.
Step 4: View Protective Practices link.
Step 5: 100 point proof of identity must be presented to Tania Carosi and one form of identification must contain a photograph.
Step 6: Please return the following to Tania Carosi
Personal Information Form – provided in the Volunteer Registration Pack
Reporting Abuse & Neglect for Volunteers certificate

Please note that all of the processes are mandatory and the entire process must be completed before being placed on the School’s Volunteer Register.
This regulation is designed to ensure our children are protected and safe at school. Please don’t hesitate to contact me at school if you have any further queries.
Thank you for your cooperation regarding this important matter.
