As our school community flourishes, so must the learning environments!
Our school purchased the property on the corner of North Street and Newcut Street, allowing for additional space for a new major building development to go.
The new development will have 8 classrooms that are larger than our current learning spaces, breakout spaces with the latest technology, toilets, and lockers inside. It will also be home to our OSHC/Vacation Care and provide private areas for Allied Health professionals to work within (Occupational & Speech Therapy).
We are particularly excited about the design of the build as it will be:
- Light filled & spacious – Spaces that have access to daylight and outside views so that there is a feeling of spaciousness
- Flexible & Adaptable – Spaces that can easily adapt to different users and functions so that the facility can fulfil its potential
- Sustainably Engaging – Environmentally responsive, and intelligent building with minimal resource consumption and impact on the environment. A building that talks to the occupants, responding to the external and internal environment conditions.
- Cost effective & Robust – Construction detailing that provides robustness and minimises maintenance without creating a harsh, institutional feel
In 2023, our St Joseph’s community have already had a glimpse of these gorgeous, light filled spaces with the rear of the complex finished and occupied by three of our Year 3/4 classes. Students can view and feel connected to the natural environment outside, and thus inspired for learning.
We look forward to the development fully opening soon.
