Principal's Welcome

Principal's Welcome

Liz Thomas

Welcome to St Joseph’s School Hectorville, a place where children’s passion for learning is ignited and where diversity, inclusivity and creativity are embraced.

We are proud to offer a nurturing community where children are valued, loved and respected. We create learning experiences that recognise the dignity of all children as highly capable, and accomplished human beings with enquiring minds, imagination and a thirst for knowledge.

We make a commitment to our families that we will engage children in learning that is relevant, purposeful and connected to their lives. We foster a strong sense of belonging, have high expectations and support each child to achieve their goals and seek their best.

Our children are participants in the 21st century and need to understand themselves as learners, learn to work collaboratively, engage in new technologies, learn how to access new skills and knowledge and develop the skills of thinking creatively, laterally and critically. The school’s beliefs about learning, pedagogical practice, organisational structures and the physical environment reflect these core principles.

Our Catholic vision and mission permeates the life of the school. ‘In Omnibus Caritas’, our motto - in all things love and kindness - reflects the strong belief we have that we, as children of God, need to reflect God’s love to our world through our attitudes, words and actions. We encourage our children to be just and responsible for our community and environment through social justice activities and ecological programs.

Our school has a strong culture of collaboration and cooperation, fostering authentic partnerships with children, families and the wider community. Together, we develop a community filled with hope, fun, friendship and rich learning.

We invite you to visit our outstanding learning community and share with us your hopes and dreams so that together we may nurture the flourishing of your child.
